Biometrics Technology

Biometric verification is any means by which a person can be uniquely identified by evaluating one or more distinguishing biological traits. Unique identifiers include fingerprints, 2D & 3D face geometry, hand geometry, earlobe geometry, retina and iris patterns, voice waves, DNA, and signatures.

  • Biometric technology identifies a person using various physiological characteristics which cannot be copied or transferred.
  • The fingertip ridges are scanned and translated through an algorithm to a number.
  • When an employee initially presents their fingerprint, a mathematical template is stored for future verification.
